RESUSCITATION

Neonatal Resuscitation means to revive or restore life to a baby form the state of ASPHYXIA (failure to initiate and sustain spontaneous breathing at birth)

Problems in the neonate that may require resuscitation at birth include-

• Airway Obstruction
• Antepartum Disorders
• Central Nervous System Abnormalities
• Drugs that Cause Respiratory Depression
• Intrapartum Disorders Causing Asphyxia
• Lungs or Chest Disorder
• Surfactant Deficiency
• Congenital Heart Disease
• Hypotension
